Inspired by my remembrance of the cootie catcher and how to fold it. I started to imagine cone and star shapes.

Vases with triangles.
Then, I thought of something to make for a Raku firing. I imagined a starry holed covering for protected backyard candlelight, hopefully it would dissuade the mosquitoes. The small slab would hold the candle.

Then a text from Xenia about the monumental scale of Richard Serra’s works. Xenia suggested I make these pieces 40 feet high in metal so you could walk through them.

Visiting Richard Serra’s monumental scale sculpture at LACMA in the Broad building. Rest in Peace Richard Serra.

Can you imagine my designs this big?
