Studio Today

Cats and birds and flowers are purring, and flitting about. It’s cold outside and rain is coming and going. I have sunshine and spring in my studio even though my nose is cold.

White Bouquets inspired by arrangements from a baby shower.

Recently enjoyed a beautiful afternoon baby shower with lovely floral arrangements. Inspired by a few snapshots, these “Classic Bouquet”, “White Floral Bouquet” and “White Butterfly Loving Flowers” canvases came together. “Classic Bouquet”, the first image  has already been sold. The other two are still available. Which variation do you like?

A flurry of small canvases

February is my favorite month of the year in Southern California. The days are getting longer and the buds are starting to come out. It’s like a first spring with a second one to come in April. So feeling better, I have been painting more. Here are some of the recent small paintings I have …

Now that it’s built, I …

Goops and Sauces and Ceramic Masks

Making a dozen new ceramic masks. The first group are in the kiln right now.  Checking out my glazes. Makes me think of goops and sauces. My last group of vases were two colors only. This group calls for a big variety of colors. Yellow, gold, black, green, blue, orange, tan and white. Almost every …

Cobalt Blue Polka Dot Vases by Joyce Lieberman

Hand built with coils and slabs, these cobalt blue polka dot vases and platters have a variety of shapes. They make a village in my mirrored space. As a village of polka dots, they shake and shimmy. Working in cone 5 clay, each vase is about 12 inches tall. They could hold a tall bouquet …
