A few weeks before Halloween, I created a group of 14 masks and busts in cone 5 clay. Some were based on faces that I had seen, including my own and various neighbors and some were fanciful fictional, much like my puppets and paintings.
In March of 2019, I went to the park with the French artist Martha Holden to make some plain air paintings. We went around a pond with ducks and swans and over a little red foot bridge and by a grove of birch trees. I also snapped a few photos to use in the studio. …
Two years ago I created a body of Celadon Green work with all kinds of accent colors, but predominantly green. Last year I went golden in tone throughout my summer vessel making. This year, my plan is to use white with gloss and Mason Stains. Here is my first piece of this years palette.
